Love God: Know That God Is For Us

Alone

Some truth can be hard to bear. Here is one of them. Being a believer does not mean that you will walk through life never again experiencing challenges. Never again having to experience painful situations. Sadness. Disappointment. Or delay.

Psalm 34:19 (NKJV) states: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Even now as I write this, I know several believers who are afflicted. Who are facing harsh and painful situations. And some of them have been enduring these challenges for quite some time, to the point where their faith is weakening. Where they are feeling alone, like God has abandoned them.

I too have had seasons of pain and suffering. And in many of those times I felt like I was enduring more than I could handle. More than I could bear alone.

This begs the question. As believers, does God leave or forsake us? The answer is no.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) declares: Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

In John 14:16 (NKJV) Jesus said: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—

And Psalm 48:14 (NKJV) says: For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide Even to death.

The above scriptures are just a few that reveal to us the truth that God does not leave or forsake us. That God abides with us forever. And that God is there to guide us, even to the end.

James 1:17 (NKJV) states: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

From James 1:17 we see that God does not waver.

God does not love us one day, but not the next.
God is not there for us one day, but not the next.
And God does not help us one day, but not the next.

God does not change. God remains the same.

We can rest assured that the God who said He will never leave us or forsake us, will never, ever, leave us or forsake us. May our faith in God arise. May we depend fully on God so that no matter how bad or harsh the challenge we face, we stand firm knowing that our God loves us. And that our God is and will always be for us.

Psalm 56:9 (NKJV) states: When I cry out to You, Then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me.
